Well, we at Ahaana would like to share with you about an environmentally sound initiative that has been gaining popularity since 2019 when we first started accepting donations. Re-Create & Re-Fabricate!
Repurpose clothing and fabrics and save the environment! 100% of proceeds supports women-at-risk and refugees. New and Preloved Indian clothing are sorted for distribution to our projects:
The Project Shop, located at 16935 W Bernardo Dr, Suite 140, San Diego CA 92127 open Saturdays 11am-3pm except holiday weekends. Weekdays, please text us to schedule an appointment. Pop-ups and traveling trunk shows are scheduled throughout the year in LA/SD/OC areas. If you have new and preloved clothing to donate, drop us an email. We have tailoring ideas available for recreating and refabricating!
Project Freedom in India, clothing will be distributed to women’s shelters, orphanages and impoverished villages. In US, women's clothing donated to our local NGO to give away as incentive for refugee women to participate in health, welfare and resettlement.
Project Rainbow Widows in India refabricate donated saris and dupattas into scarves, bags, home décor, etc. for sale. This is their livelihood. Ahaana also repurchases the products to sell at fundraisers.
Project Recover: Textile recycling center for an environmentally safe disposal and repurpose of rags into rope.
We are doing our part... please do yours! Donate your gently used Saris, Salwar Suits, Kurtis, Kids and Men's clothes, clean out your closet and help with not dumping in the landfill.
If you'd like to donate gently used or new Indian clothes, please drop us an email to Info@Ahaana.org and we will advise you of the next donation drive.
Thank you for helping to save the environment.
