Celebrating 50 Years of Impact

We are thankful!
Ahaana is deeply grateful for the generous grant from the Lotus Fund at San Diego Foundation that empowers us to expand our platform of Yoni ki Baat & MenOlogues. Through storytelling, we aim to uplift AANHPI youth, promote mental health and wellness, and broaden awareness to our communities.

Some take-away quotes:
"community" "fun"
"socialize" "kindness"
"inclusive" "friendly"
Attendees felt this as a good space to meet, socialize, find community, and support , lend a helping hand, or other types of events.
They want youth to lead the youth advisory board. Ahaana would provide the space and opportunity to grow.
Next meeting in person March 25, details TBA.
September 21, 2025: Salon Event and Mapping the Mind
On September 21, 2025, Ahaana brought the community together for two inspiring Salon Events at the Ed Brown Center in San Diego. The day featured a multimedia storytelling workshop for AANHPI youth, a peer support circle, and an intergenerational youth-senior storytelling session, followed by a reception and powerful performances of intimate monologues written by Asian American youth. The events created a vibrant space for connection, cultural expression, and leadership development.
August 24th, 2025: Mapping the Mind - Multimedia Storytelling Workshop
On Sunday, August 24th, Ahaana, supported by a grant from the San Diego Foundation, hosted the Mapping the Mind multimedia storytelling workshop at the Pine Avenue Community Center in Carlsbad, CA. This free event for AANHPI youth ages 15–24 created a safe and empowering space for participants to share their stories, break stigma, and build confidence. Through creative storytelling activities, mentorship connections, and access to mental health and wellness resources, the workshop fostered leadership skills and strengthened community bonds.
