South Asian Women Entrepreneurs Network (SAWEN) is a networking group of South Asian women entrepreneurs, career professionals, artists, performers, who want to network with like-minded women, to get inspiration from one another and meet other successful women in our community. Our group is a circle of women who have chosen their respective fields of work and are passionate to achieve their goals. The aim of this group is to be a source of referrals for one another and an abundance of information and support. We have taking-care-of-business meetings six times a year plus several smaller social events.
I am fortunate to have in my life family and friends who have provided tremendous support through the difficulties I have lived. I can only imagine what it’s like for women to have gone through the hardships of mental abuse, rape, violence, identity crises and yes, hunger too - and running into walls with only themselves to pick them up and move on! In a world where there is more good than evil, it's unfortunate that anyone fall prey to such inhumane atrocities - whether at the instigating, or at the receiving end. Let's all strive to make a difference in our world by focusing on local communities, to make the most substantial impact; to foster these important social connections positively - the huge dividends being love, care, and a kinder world.
With this desire in my heart, the Ahaana Festival in San Diego was born. Ahaana is really an inspiration from the annual Aaina Festival, a part of Tasveer, Seattle. I had been part of Aaina for over a decade as a sponsor, a volunteer and a YKB performer in 2013, and continue to support them.
Through the Ahaana Festival and Yoni ki Baat, I wish to spread more awareness, compassion and love. Introducing MenOlogues is yet another artistic ambition which was a few years in the mental making and finally brought to stage this year, in 2017!
If you have able hands, we would love to get your help. Whether it's assisting at the festival, media marketing and selling tickets at other events, hosting a performer, we would appreciate it all!

We will make a difference!
